Tarot is Art

Habetrot reflects the creative side of a Swiss woman who balances her everyday work life with a deep passion for art. In her free time, she immerses herself in her small studio, bringing ideas to life and exploring the world of Habetrot.

Her curiosity drives her to experiment boldly with a wide range of media—from colored pencils and watercolors to linocuts, digital drawing on the iPad, and even new technologies like AI text-to-image programs. This fearless exploration fuels her creative journey and inspires her work.

One of her current projects is the creation of tarot cards, a natural extension of her curiosity for stories, history, art and modern technology.

"Art is not what you see, but what you make others see."

- Edgar Degas -

At Habetrot, we have designed tarot decks inspired by the works of some of the most iconic artists from the last century. With names like Hannah Höch, Hilma af Klint, Sonia Delaunay-Terk, Leonora Carrington, Henri Rousseau, Dante Gabriel Rosseti, Tamara de Lempicka and many more on the list, you can expect a unique and artistic approach to your tarot readings. These artists, many of whom were contemporaries of the creators of the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, provide an alternative perspective on the mystical world of tarot. Come and discover our decks, and experience the magic and wonder of tarot with us.

About the use of AI:
We believe in the responsible use of AI when it comes to creating our products. We know how easily AI can be used to replicate the artwork of other artists. So we use our own uniqe approach to make sure there is a resemblance of the era and those chosen artists, nevertheless it always will have the distincitve Habetrot style. We believe that art should be carefully crafted and appreciated and not just reduced to another mass-produced commodity.
